Start by introducing yourself. Where are you at in your creative career? Are you still studying or have you already graduated? Or have you already graduated from art/design studies? Mention your background – how did your creative path begin, what basic skills and experience did you acquire? And for the future – what are your goals?


  • include recently received awards, exhibitions held or participation in them, etc.;
  • aim for a friendly and casual tone;
  • write in the first person and don’t be afraid to sound arrogant;
  • adjust the profile presentation according to the audience you are sending to.

It is very important to understand who will be your audience that will view the portfolio. Is it the gallery or the curators or the hiring managers? Analyze first:

  • What kind of employee are they looking for?
  • What skills are essential?
  • What are the values ​​of the company/organization?
  • What is relevant to them and what is not.

Ask yourself the following questions while checking the visuals of your PORTFOLIO:

 

  • Are the color and contrast clear?
  • Do the links to other web pages/pages actually work?
  • Is the language clearly understandable? Are there no language style, grammar errors?
  • Are the titles, topics clearly laid out?
  • It is useful to share the portfolio with friends or other people and let them test it, get their comments.
